Welcome to Friends of Ironbridge Gorge

The Friends of Ironbridge Gorge was formed in March 2026 out of the Friends of Ironbridge Gorge Museum which had been associated with Ironbridge Gorge Museum since its inception. Our main area of activity is the Ironbridge Gorge, however we have members in all parts of the UK.

We welcome anyone who is interested in Industrial Heritage, Industrial Archaeology and Social History.

The Friends of Ironbridge Gorge is a support group for the National Trust property Ironbridge Gorge.

The Friends raise funds for the property and run several activities to increase awareness of both the history of the Gorge and its place in the Industrial Revolution that shaped modern Britain.

We are an entirely independent organisation, our members ranging from those with an interest in local history to those who are professionals in the field of Industrial Heritage.

We have a programme of events and talks throughout the year. Our regular newsletter includes matters of interest with details of our talks and other events.
